With many people staying home more, you’re going to want to keep your household free of germs as much as possible. We talked to Gina bring who’s the owner of Carnation Home Cleaning she says one of the first places you want to take care of is your door. The entrance to your home is one of the dirtiest places in the house because you’re bringing things in from the outside. Bring recommends spraying the handle in the area around it with a disinfectant but let it sit for a little while before wiping it off.

Dwell time is the amount of time that you need to leave the disinfectant on the surface for it to actually kill the germs. So again, you want to be reading the back of the labels of the product that you’re using. So that you are doing that correctly. Anywhere from 30 seconds to eight minutes.

And Bring says you don’t want to use cotton because it does not absorb and pick up contaminants like a microfiber cloth will.
